The real ‘knowledge’ in schools and colleges is negligible. Instead children involuntarily learn the unintentional content of school systems – fear of authority, suppressing internal knowledge and fear of making a mistake. The current educational system is turning genuine, imaginative, creative minds into those that can only imitate and copy.
At PEF we work on enhancing the natural biological learning within every child by complementing the current curriculum whilst working within the existing frameworks of schools and colleges. Instead of the typical portion oriented classroom based approach, our program comprises of interactive, visual, practical and collaborative teaching methods.
Just as it is important to leave a better planet to our children we also need to leave better children to this planet.
We instil ecological sensitivity in children and teach them about being ecologically accountable for their actions. We stress on civic sense – a subject which, unfortunately, is only a supplement to history in our schools. Most importantly we motivate children to become agents for positive change.
Since inception we have sensitised over 12,500 children across 9 Indian cities and 4 states through over 30 schools and 5 colleges. Schools and colleges are taking on EcoEd as a yearlong visiting faculty program that complements their curriculum.
EcoEd is also instrumental in creating informed volunteers because of the continual learning process. We conduct educational field trips with schools and colleges and also work on projects with several schools.
