Great Indian Bustard

We are working on specific issues related to conservation of Great Indian Bustard and grasslands. We believe in the fact that without involvement of local community wildlife can not survive.

We are working on many fronts of bustard conservation such as awareness, habitat management and protection, involving local community in conservation, monitoring and research, we are putting efforts to understand ecological economy of grasslands. Along with the Pune wildlife department we are actually implementing the policy decisions for the benefit of bustards and grasslands at Bustard sanctuary solapur.

We have put our efforts in uplisting of Great Indian Bustard from endangered category to critically endangered category by IUCN and BirdLife International. We are actively involved in National Species recovery plan and Maharashtra State emergency conservation plan for Great Indian Bustard.

In coming years we will be working on community issues, conservation economy, core area issues and use of modern techniques to understand bustard ecology for further planning.
